HZ Carls is an American writer, activist, and cat minion who has devoted her professional life to making planet Earth a kinder place for everyone, of every species. On weekends, she enjoys adventuring with family and breathing life into imperfect characters only to put them through the paces.

When not penning short stories, editing rush news releases, or singing silly songs to amazing children, HZ enjoys learning about the lived experiences of others, appreciating nature, and putting her background as a gamer and role play enthusiast to good use, creating (and sometimes destroying) imaginary civilizations one word at a time.
